It has been way too long since the last Norsk Urskog episode, so I thought it was beyond reasonable that I should bother the wonderful people of the Symphonium metal show again. This episode presents new (and some old) underground bands from both Norway and elsewhere. We get to hear from recent releases of Slaamaskin, Born With Worms Inside, Infernal, Horrifier and Crime Zone, while also checking in on some older releases from Transgressive and Bloodscorn.
This episode was first aired on August 23, 2026 as a segment in the Symphonium metal radio show.
The bands
Slaamaskin - Stridshaud
We started this episode with a track from the new EP Endevendt by Slaamaskin. This band from Bergen plays an energetic, ballsy rock'n'roll with lyrics in Sunnmørsk. (A dialect from the north/west coast of Norway.) The EP was released in April of 2026, and is available on bandcamp as well as in a beautiful 12" vinyl edition that also features their first EP 2016 on the B-side.
Transgressive - Unheard Voices
We then took a long step further west to the anarchist thrash band Transgressive from Arizona, USA. They have released a number of albums, but we chose the song Unheard Voices from their 2023 album Extreme Transgression. This is agressive and groovy thrash metal with a message!
You will find Extreme Transgression on Bandcamp.
Born With Worms Inside - Owned + Prick
Never a Norsk Urskog episode without a bit of grindcore! In this episode we visited Born With Worms Inside from France, and their latest EP Far Wrong (2025). This is groovy, hard hitting and dirty grindcore, and since the songs are fairly short, we played two: Owned and Prick.

Infernal - Holy Unholy
Back to Norway! Infernal is a black metal band with a history dating back to the early 1990's. While they've had a longer pause, they have released a few albums the past few years. Earlier this year they dropped a new track on YouTube, and a pretty strong one too, I think. This may not be very progressive, but it is solid, aggressive and still atmospheric black metal.
I have not been able to find this anywhere else than YouTube sadly, so please take the necessary precautions before following the link.
You'll find Holy Unholy by Infernal on YouTube.
Horrifier - The Ingestion
Once I learned about this release, I was looking forward to play this for you! Horrifier is an old-school death metal band from Oslo. Their third and latest release, Revelations of Gore dropped on August 7, and is a great old-school album that should easily find it's place with fans of the genre. From this album we play The Ingestion.
Check out Revelations of Gore by Horrifier on Bandcamp.
Bloodscorn - Sons of Death
Looking back, we revisited Bloodscorn, a now defunct band that was active in the Oslo underground in the last half of the milleniums first decade. They only released one full-length album, Through the Gates of Hell in 2007. It's an album I still play somewhat regularly, and I think the band had deserved a more successful career.
I have not found their music online, but it should be possible to find the album second hand.
We played the song Sons of Death.
Crime Zone - Cemetery Surf
Another band I was looking forward to play was Crime Zone from Trondheim. This was a new acquantance for me, as I had never heard about the band before stumbling over them when looking for what to play for this episode. This is energetic party-thrash, with a good mood and beach vibes. Could it be more fitting for a release on July 3rd?
We played the song Cemetery Surf from the album Beach Thrash, which as far as I can tell is the second release by this band. Check out the release on Bandcamp.
