Playlist, Symphonium Aug. 17, 2025
Harald visited the Symphonium radio show on August 17, 2025, and presented a small selection of Norwegian underground bands. He even included a few cool bands from outside of Norway, and that's something we will continue to do in these broadcasts. The underground is, and has always, been international.
The segment was originally aired at August 17, 2025 16:00 CEST, with several reruns the following weeks.
The bands
Gorr - På Gravens Stille Rand
This dark and dirty track was taken from their latest release, «Kvite Krystallar» from 2025. The band is originally from the iland of Gossan on the coast of Møre og Romsdal. It was founded by Skuggimaðr (aka Gøran Sæther) in 2019, but is now a project consisting of both Gøran and Hateful Wind (Evan Barton).
You can find Gorr on the web.
Proselytism - Strange God Rising
Proselytism plays dark and filthy thrash thrash metal which more than hints towards an old school root. This is intense, groovy and high energy thrash metal worth checking out. The band is anothe duo, consisting of Kjetil Hektoen on drums/vocals and Marius Gonsholt Hov on guitars and bass.
«Strange God Rising» is the title track of their 2023 EP release on Duplicate Records.
You can find Proselytism on Bandcamp.
Audrvin - Med Renker og Pisk
Cold, dark and melodic black metal is what you can expect from Audrvin. This is the solo project of Audrvin (aka Audun Ween) formerly of Blastered and Foil.
The track «Med Renker og Pisk» is taken from their debug album «Krypt» from 2023.
You can find Audrvin on the web.
Skuggimaðr - Siste andedrag
Another grim and gritty release from Skuggimaðr (who is also the founder of Gorr). Fra Is og Eld was released in 2024, with music created on an Atari Falcon computer from 1992!
You can find Skuggimaðr on Bandcamp.
If I Were the Devil - Traitor to the Cross
If I Were the Devil is a black metal band from Tinley Park, Illinois, USA. Their latest EP, «Feasting on Extinction» from 2024 is raw, intense and also quite catchy. «Traitor to the Cross» is the opening track of the release.
You can find If I Were The Devil on Bandcamp.
Fetters - Skunk + Self-Hatred
Fetters is a brutal and in your face grind core band from Lyon, France. They're part of a music collective calling themselves The Digging Squid. From their 2025 release «Acrimony» we played two tracks, «Skunk» and «Self-Hatred».
You will find «Acrimony» by Fetters on Bandcamp.
